Green Gram Milk Rice (Mung ata kiribath)

This food also prepared same as milk rice. Very delicious food. You can prepare this meal in a short time.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 kg Green gram
  • 1 kg rice (Kekulu rice)
  • 4 cups First milk of two coconuts
  • 6 cups second milk water
  • 500 g sugar
  • 250 g  jaggery
  • Salt- to taste
  • 10 cardamoms

METHOD:

  • Wash green grams well and keep them to 2-3 hours in water
  • Wash rice also and mix both rice and green grams together and keep to steam.
  • Mix sugar and jaggery  to first milk and mix
  • Add them to steamed rice and green gram mixture and mix well.
  • If first milk isn’t enough for cook, add second milk too. But apply second milk little by little.
  • Then cook it in law fire till it is thick.
  • Finally put that prepared rice on to banana leaf and keep little time  (it is for increase the taste and smell. That’s not essential step)
