Pera Achcharu / Spiced Guava

Pera Achcharu

Spiced Guava is a popular street food in Sri Lanka. We commonly call it as ‘Pera Achcharu’.Not only guava, we like to eat pineapple, mango, ambarella  or even ‘Veralu’ (Sri Lankan olive) with some spices added.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Guava
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt or to taste

Method:

  • Wash guava. Cut it into small cubes.
  • In a bowl, mix chili powder sugar and salt together. Add few drops of water into it and make like a paste/sauce. Add diced guava into this and mix well.
  • Pera Achcharu is ready to eat.
