Godamba Roti

Godamba roti usually prepared for dinner with curry dishes such as Beef or Chicken. Godamba Roti is also known as Murtaba in Singapore.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 cup of white flour (All purpose flour)
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tbsp of oil
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1/2 oil

 

METHOD:

  • Mix the flour, salt and 1 tbsp of oil together.
  • Then add the cup of lukewarm water and kneed for about 10 minutes.
  • Divide into equal sized balls.
  • Cover the divided ball with the 1/2 cup of oil and let sit for at least 1 hour (I like to leave mine for a couple of hours).
  • Using a plastic cutting board, smooth out the balls until it’s thin like a sheet.
  • Carefully transfer the roti on to a heated griddle.

 

  • Cook until golden brown spots form on each side, then serve.
